From a project looking at tools built to do one thing, just one thing well. Loved quietly by a select few long after the rest of the world moved on.
This mini-series celebrates the 4×5 film holder, the quiet workhorse of the large format camera, rarely the subject of anything and always in service to the image it carries.
Each piece is drawn at a similar size in wax crayon. The subject doesn't change much but the rendering always does.
Different colours and different marks. Each one is a fresh take on the same object depending on the mood of the day.
Wax crayon on paper.
